    ATTENTION

  • Four schools are currently without power. Southern California Edison is still evaluating, we will keep you updated as we learn more. The schools currently without power are Krystal, Ranchero, Kingston and Sultana.
  • UPDATE 11:11am - Sultana is back up and running.
  • UPDATE 11:55am - The backup generators are working and the kids have good lighting in their classrooms and have been fed lunch, at this time we have no plans to send kids home early.
  • UPDATE 12:23pm - Power has been restored to all schools. Thank you for your patience! Still no word as to what caused the outage.

    Peanut Butter Recall

    You may have heard about the recent USDA peanut butter recall. We were informed yesterday that the recall includes Smuckers Peanut Butter and Jelly Uncrustable sandwiches. HUSD Nutrition Services does not serve Smuckers brand PB&J sandwiches. We are happy to announce that the two Pierre peanut butter products we use and have on hand are safe to serve. Please call Nutrition Services at (760) 948-1051 if you have any questions.

    School Lunch Applications

    Now available ONLINE Beginning July 23, 2012, the Hesperia Unified School District, Nutrition Services Department will be accepting on-line applications for the National School Lunch program in English and Spanish. Once submitted, please allow ten (10) working days for processing. After July 23rd, we will have paper applications available at all school sites as well as our office located at 11176 G Avenue. This site is for Free and Reduced Lunch Applications ONLY. If you have already received a Direct Certification letter for your child(ren), you need not fill out an application. For payments on your child’s account please use my school bucks. Please contact our office between 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at (760)948-1051, Extension 7900 with any questions you may have.

    Invocation Speakers

    The Hesperia Unified School District is looking for speakers interested in giving an invocation at its Board meetings. Prayers offered must be non-sectarian in nature. Individuals from all faith traditions are welcome, but should represent a community of faith within the City of Hesperia. Interested parties may complete an “Invocation Agreement” form and return it to the Superintendent’s Office at 15576 Main Street in Hesperia. The schedule for Board meetings, the applicable Board By-Laws and the agreement form are both available on the district website at: www.hesperia.org. If you have any questions, please call our office at (760) 244-4411, x7215.

    Kindergarten Age, New School Boundaries, New Immunization Law
